Scar Symmetry
Man, i don't know if i'm the only one here: But i fucking LOVE Scar Symmetry....... dunno why. Every time i hear them i like em more, except, at least down here - it's quite rare to find fans of them. Is anyone else here fans of them? And if there are, have you seen them live?
Re: Scar Symmetry
I like them, I don't like them quite as much as I used to, but I do listen to them every now and then

Re: Scar Symmetry
I like them in the way that i don't hate them and I would be glad if i could see them live one day, I won't specially go to a show for them, nor will they ever be in my top list of bands. But you can go worse then them.

Re: Scar Symmetry
I've listened to them... but they obviously didn't really call my attention (I can hardly remember what they were like)
Re: Scar Symmetry
The clean vocals were the reason I got their albums. I saw a video for "The Illusionist" on TV one night, and at first I was like "Okay, this is some pretty solid Melo-Death I guess", and then the clean vocals came in and absolutely blew me away. It's amazing someone can have a growl that (excuse the cliche) brutal, and clean vocals that soulful and passionate. Up their with Mikael Akerfeldt and Tommy Rogers, in my opinion.
Re: Scar Symmetry
I really liked Symmetric In Design. I never got Pitch Black Progress for some reason, even though the tracks I heard on Pandora impressed me greatly.

Agreed, but to me they sound like a weaker version of Dark Age.

For you everything sounds like a weaker version of Dark Age...
They are not bad ...

I love me some Scar Symmetry. I fell in love with them the first time I heard them. Constantly on my list of listens.
I agree that his clean vocals were the selling point for me. It was killer.

Re: Scar Symmetry
I've tried to listen to them just because so many people seem to hate them, but I just ended up being added to that list of people.

Re: Scar Symmetry
Scar Symmetry is teh awesome. The clean vocals arent exactly a selling point, but they add something nice to the music.

Re: Scar Symmetry
I remember a friend showed me them, he hardly likes any growled music (only Opeth and stuff like Devildriver and Chimaira) and he enjoyed them. I don't really remember what they were like but I believe I found them rather generic and uninteresting. But then again I'm kind of growing out the Melodeath genre. There are a few stand-out bands but all the new bands sound the same.
