Re: The Recommendation Thread
When you like new Paradise Lost and new Katatonia you might want to give newer Anathema (Alternative 4) a try. All bands who moved from doom/death towards a more "poppy sound", more depressive/doom rock/metal.

Bands I already enjoy are: Sahg, Katatonia (new), Paradise Lost (new), Candlemass (with Messiah), Lamented Souls, Another Messiah, Havayoth, Black Sabbath and I think those are all of them.
I need more.
Try Reverend Bizarre's first album. And Harvey Milk's Special Wishes is a real killer.
And basically you can any early classic doom band: Saint Vitus, The Obsessed, Warhorse...
I haven't checked them all, but I'm mostly searching for doom metal with songs that have normal length. Long songs tend to bore me after a while.
EDIT: Saint Vitus and The Obsessed seem to have normal song lenghts, what album(s) should I start with.

trve kvlt grim & frostbitten
Here's a tricky request.
Black Metal is a real terra incognita for me. Can you guys recommend me some bands? I'm looking for harsh and raw stuff, lo-fi production, without synths, and possibly non-NSBM.

For Saint Vitus I like Hallow's Victim. It has two of my favorite SV songs on it, War Is Our Destiny and White Stallions
