Best of 2007
I found this article listing the top 50 heavy metal cd's for 2007.
What do you guys think?
I don't agree at all with #1, but then I don't like the band at all.

Re: Best of 2007
The Megadeth and Arch Enemy albums are overstated. For me, personally, Dark Tranquillity's Fiction should've been higher up...Wolves In The Throne Room too(I don't find it as good as their first release, but its an excellent album nonetheless, and is surely worthy of a much higher position that the one its got)...
And how the hell did Moonsorrow and Ensiferum end up at #29 and #26?! Both those albums are surely in my top ten. And Turisas at #46 and Sigh at #49?
Nah...Maybe its just my taste in music, but, I disagree with that list...

Haha, the first thing I notice is that Melechesh is there, and that album is from 2006.
And no King Diamond, no Dream Theater?

Re: Best of 2007
I don't really like the list
Arch Enemy and Megadeth shouldn't be in top 10 at all.
But then....I don't really like either.
Wolves in the Throne Room should be in top 5. hahaha
FTW!

Re: Best of 2007
Agreed about AE, but the new Megadeth surprised me in a very positive way. And indeed, WitTR should've been higher.Jester wrote:Arch Enemy and Megadeth shouldn't be in top 10 at all.
And I believe I miss the best album of this year in this list, and only the absence of that album makes this list already sucky. Sigh and Symphony X should've been higher as well.
Re: Best of 2007
Sigh! Their musicianship is nothing short of sheer brilliance!
Getting back to that list, my favourite Heavy/Power Metal release this year isn't on that list either. Widow's Nightlife is a very good release, and is definitely worthy of being in that list.

On most list they have the new DevilDriver album, but on this list not. Weird. It also is a good album with good solo's.

Ah. So I see you're still aloud to submit this to TMO. I get to read it before everyone else...how exciting. Haha.
Re: Best of 2007
