Watching the world go by
Watching the world go by
The sky is clear and blue today. The sun shines however the day secretes such chilliness it numbs the limbs-
I can see the river from my window. Chunks of ice floating, following the course of each other leading them to the sea-
The rooftops white from the fresh snow that quietly covered them during the night-
Pedestrians go by almost invisible underneath their thick clothing that will protect them from the winter-
The sun is in my eyes however so mild that I just sit back and enjoy it floodlighting my face,
There’s movement outside. Cars come and go while people go about their daily routines
and I, an observer from my window, watch the world go by dwelling upon passed lives and pondering of all those I left behind now that time allows me to-
I imagine myself entering that world I am but an observer of and mingle into it however unfitting, I struggle for acceptance and recognition,
Baring the necessary and trying to acquire even more. The day is so short though that I may not manage to do it all today,
I watch the early sunset and fill my lungs with oxygen to let it all out on to the glass that separates me from the world; that world I so often sit and watch go by.
