2008 Grammy Metal Nominations
AS I LAY DYING - "Nothing Left"
KING DIAMOND - "Never Ending Hill"
MACHINE HEAD - "Aesthetics Of Hate"
SHADOWS FALL - "Redemption"
SLAYER - "Final Six"
This is ridiculous. Not that the Grammy Academy knows metal at all but some of these choices are ridiculous. It's nice to see King Diamond on there (especially since he isn't American). Slayer won last year so its kind of suspicious that the BONUS TRACK from the new album gets nominated. As I Lay Dying isn't representative of the Metal nation at all. "Redemption" by Shadows Fall may end up winning cause Shadows Fall was nominated before but the song is pretty weak. Machine Head might take it for the concept of the song but its questionable whether or not the Academy knows what it is about.

Re: 2008 Grammy Metal Nominations
Haha. Typical bullshit. Oh well, the metal portion of the Grammy's isn't even part of the broadcast is it?
Re: 2008 Grammy Metal Nominations
hahaha...the only song up there that I like is King Diamond
As I Lay Crying isn't even Metal...and I don't consider Shadows Fall Metal either.

Re: 2008 Grammy Metal Nominations
I'm not really a huge fan of any of those songs. As much as I love KD, that one just doesn't do anything for me. I loved Machine Head's newest album, but that was probably my least favoriite song from it. I guess my favorite from this list would be Shadows Fall.
Re: 2008 Grammy Metal Nominations
hahaha...yea. King Diamond's newest one was the first album I'd heard from him, so I liked it.
From what I've listened to of the Machine Head album, it sounds cool, but I'm not super big into stuff like that. And Shadows Fall doesn't do anything for me. =/

Re: 2008 Grammy Metal Nominations
I like the As I lay Dying song and the MH song. Havn't heard the KD song, but I have the album somewhere on my computer. Who care the grammys are a bunch of bullshit. They're like the oscars just because you've won one does not make a great artist.

Re: 2008 Grammy Metal Nominations
This ins't even a contest. Machine Head will win just look at all the mallcore kiddies that are saying MH new albums is th best metal album ever.
King Diamond should win this, but I doubt it will happen.

Re: 2008 Grammy Metal Nominations
Well...I think the mallcore kids will go for As I Lay Dying over MH. Shadows Fall has a pretty big following as well
I think MH probably has the least amount of followers out of those three. I dunno about Europe though

Re: 2008 Grammy Metal Nominations
Yeah but you gotta remember these things aren't voted by mallcore kids so I doubt that either of em will win. I think KD takes it down pretty easily.

Re: 2008 Grammy Metal Nominations
Actually...I bet Slayer will win.
Slayer has been around forever, and they're notorius.

Re: 2008 Grammy Metal Nominations
Doubt it. They won last year, and it'd be kind of stupid for them to win anyways considering the song thats nominated is a bonus song from a re-release.

Always the same, always the song that have a videoclip that mtv and others sometimes play, never something that only metalheads like and not all the mallcore kids.

Re: 2008 Grammy Metal Nominations
They use to air the metal segment on tv. Remember the Metallica/Jethro Tull crap? Don't know if they aired any metal since then though since I haven't watched the grammys since then but oh well.
